About Me
Jinwei Zhang is a pianist, educator, and arts administrator based in Washington, D.C. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from The Catholic University of America, a Master of Music degree from Mannes School of Music in New York, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music in China. As a performer, Zhang has appeared at venues and institutions including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Washington, D.C., Georgetown University, and The Catholic University of America. As a Presidential Scholar at Mannes School of Music, he performed Carl Ruggles’ Four Chants for Piano at the Mannes Sound Festival, which was livestreamed on the official website. He has also participated in the Brevard Music Center, Atlantic Music Festival, and Rocky Ridge Music Festival. His artistic achievements and cultural initiatives have been featured in China Daily and The Washington Diplomat.
