Carrying Tradition Forward. Making Space for New Voices

 

The Potomac International Piano Competition is an initiative organized and presented by the International Art Development and Promotion Association (IADPA). Created to carry forward the rich tradition of piano music, the competition also seeks to discover and nurture the artistic potential of a new generation of young musicians.

Musical tradition remains alive when it is passed forward—not simply preserved, but rediscovered through the imagination and voices of each new generation. The competition reflects this belief by inviting emerging pianists to engage deeply with the piano repertoire, develop their individual artistry, and share their music with wider audiences.
